Occasional childcare is a servce provided by TWNH for women attending classes at the House and for local families who need their children cared for on an occasional basis. We encourage you and your child to visit The Playroom prior to attending, to meet the staff and see the program in action. For all children from 6 months to school age. Enrolments and bookings are essential. Term bookings are available with a discount. Casual places may also be available.

Enrolments are open to children who turn 3 years old before 30th April, 2008. Our kinder activities are based on children's strengths and interests, and are child centered.
Children may attend 3 of the 4 sessions (15% discount on second session).

Computer Classes

Our Computer room is well equipped with ten computers running Windows XP and Office 2003 with internet/email connections. Participants are provided with manuals and hand outs to work through at their own speed in a supportive environment with expert assistance from the tutor.

Students untertaking computer courses are given free access to our computers at specified times to complete homework and assessment tasks.

This course is for adults wishing to gain broad application-based computer skills; word processing, spreadsheet, personal computer, internet and email, database application and presentation package, either as preparation for further training in Information Technology or as a first step in retraining to return to the workforce. It is also for older adults (40+) who want to improve their computer skills and complete a basic qualification in Information Technology. Over one year students can complete all 6 units of competency to receive the full certificate.

Moving Stars combines movement, dance, music, drama and art along with a cuppa tea, a bickie, and some jokes, into 2 hours of fun! People with disabilities get together and explore places seldom visited. Moving Stars is a safe, caring, friendly space where you are allowed the freedom to expand and challenge.
Kirtan - Singing and Meditation

Are you interested in working in the hospitality industy? Do you want to learn the skills required to work in a cafe/kitchen with on the job training at The Sliding Door Community Cafe. This course is designed for people with some experience of delivering competence based training to assist you in gaining the knowledge and skill to work effectively and safely in the VET learning environment, fostering and maintaining an environment which supports inclusive work practices and a learning culture.

The course is offered in the four program areas of Learning Environment, Learning Design, Delivery and Facilitation, and Assessment.

The day begins at 10:00 am sharp and concludes at 5:00pm. Tea and coffee is provided. You will need to bring your lunch.
The course is structured to provide intensive training over 11 full days and then incorporates a 4 week study period for completion of all the assessment requirments.

This bridging course will upgrade the Certificate lV in Assessment and Workplace Training (BSZ40198) to the new Cetificate lV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104).
The Upgrade is delivered over a full day session by a qualified trainer. In addition to this session, a significant amount of evidence gathering and some assessment tasks need to be completed by you with individual assistance and/or support.

The Sliding Door Cafe' * NEW *
Located in the Reservoir Civic Centre in Edwards St, Reservoir, this community cafe' provides training and employment fathways for local community members through training in hospitality, food safety and coffee training. The cafe' has a focus on multicultural, halal, vegetarian and vegan options in a comfortable, affordable and inviting environment. Catering for special events is also availalbe upon request.

English Language Studies

Improve Your English Nationally Recognised Training logo


Is English your second language. Would you like to improve your language and literacy skills and increase your confidence for life in the Australian community, employment or further study.

Students can achieve a statement of attainment on completion of units of competency from Certificate ll (21498VIC) and Certificate lll (21499VIC) in ESL Frameworks, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

All classes are part-time, 3 hours per day, for two days a week - total of 6 hours per week. Enrolments are ongoing.

Interviews and assessments are required for all ESL classes. Please ring to make an appointment.
