Certificate III in Children's Services (CHC30708) 2010

Days and Times:

Mondays 9.15am - 3.15pm & Thursdays 12.30pm - 3.30pm

9 scheduled classroom delivery hours per week x 36 weeks (not school holidays)

Plus 165 hrs of work placement in a registered Child Care Centre

Plus Job Ready Program (pre accredited) to enhance job seeking skills: 

10 weeks in Term 3 & 4 Fridays 9.15am - 12.15pm

Term Dates:

Commencing:  Monday 15 February - 10 December 2010

9 hours per week X 36 weeks plus 165 hours of work placement.

Cost:

Basic Rate:  $625 + $100 Materials = $725

Concession Rate:  $120 + $100 Materials = $220

Full Rate:  $1500 full fee paying (not government funded)

Eligibility:  Australian citizens & permanent residents or TPV holders with no formal education qualifications.

Supported by ACFE funding

Full fee paying students:  $1,500

 

TWNH is a registered Returning to Earning Provider.

 

This course is the standard qualification for people who are working or want to work as child care assistants in child care centres or family day care. Demand for people with this qualification is high.

Certificate II in Hospitality (SIT20207) at The Sliding Door Cafe

Term Dates:

Commencing: 16 February 2010

10 hours per week for 18 weeks (classroom and on the job training)

Venue:  Sliding Door Community Training Cafe - Reservoir Civic Centre, 23 Edwardes Street, Reservoir

Cost:

$275 / $105 Concession.  Eligibility:  Australian Citizen, Permanent or TPV holder with no educational qualifications

ACFE funded

This course is for women and men who are interested in working in the hospitality industry.  Participants learn the basic skills and knowledge required to work in various hospitality enterprises where food is prepared and served such as restaurants, coffee shops, hotels and catering operations.  The course includes units in Food Safety and Hygiene, Preparing and Serving Expresso Coffee, sandwiches, food, non alcoholic beverages and responsible service of alcohol.  On the job training is offered at The Sliding Door Cafe in Reservoir.

Students spend 1 day per week in class, Mondays, and are then rostered for 1 day per week in the cafe.  The cafe is open from Tuesday - Friday.



Certificate III in Aged Care (CHC 30208) 2010

Days and Times:

Commencing:  Tuesday 15 February - July 2010 (18 weeks - not school holidays)

Tuesdays & Wednesdays:  9.30am - 3.30pm (11 hours per week)

Plus 200 hours of work placement in an accredited residential Aged Care facility over the duration of the course.

Plus Job Ready Program (pre accredited) to enhance job seeking skills:

10 weeks from 9.15am - 12.15pm March to May 2010 for 30 hours

 

Term Dates:

Commencing:  Tuesday 15 February 2010

Cost:

Concession: $120 + $100 for materials = $220.00

Basic Rate:  $450  + $100 Materials = $550

Eligibility:  Australian citizens & permanent residents or TPV holders with no formal education qualifications.

Fee for service students may apply:  Cost $1,350

This course will provide participants with the basic knowledge and skills to provide care to residents in both private homes and aged care facilities such as nursing homes, hostels and supported residential services.  It also provides home care workers and personal care workers with a nationally recognised qualification. 

Selection criteria:

Age 18 or over

Language and literacy skills to meet course and workplace learning requirements

A commitment to undertake all course requirements and assessments

Ability to interact appropriately within a group setting

Agree to obtain a Police Record Check
